Origins & Traditional Wisdom

Deep in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, along the flowing riverbanks of Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, and Bolivia, grows a remarkable plant teacher known as Bobinsana (Calliandra angustifolia). Her heart-shaped flowers mirror the sacred geometry of feminine creation, opening and closing with the rhythms of dawn and dusk. The Shipibo-Konibo people, masterful plant medicine healers, have long known her as "Sirenita de los Ríos" (Mermaid of the Rivers). They share a beautiful sacred song (icaro) dedicated to her spirit, which has traveled far beyond its origins to touch hearts worldwide. In their tradition, she manifests as a mermaid spirit, guardian of the waters of emotion, creativity, and feminine wisdom.
